Homecoming Games 2025

January 17, 2025 – The girls varsity team will play first at 5:00 p.m. against the Mid-Pacific Owls. Then the boys will play against Hanalani at 6:30 p.m.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Eagles are on a winning streak, with a 7-1 league record, losing just one game this season against Hanalani. Tonight’s game against the Owls will be their second meeting for the season. Their first match-up was in December, when HBA kicked off their regular season play with a 44-26 win over the Owls.

Boys Basketball

The Eagles are currently 3-3 in season play and will be facing Hanalani for their second season match-up. Hanalani prevailed at their last meeting, winning 51-40.

There will be free chili-cheese nachos and drinks courtesy of the HBA Athletic Booster Club.

"My most memorable moment was when one of my teammate's dad showed up to our championship game, with an eagle blow-up costume, and cheered directly under the opposing team's basket during a free throw."

"My most memorable moment was when I first played for the intermediate team. It was the first time I had a team that I connected with. My previous teams were just a bunch of teammates, but after becoming a part of an HBA team, I was able to form friendships that I will always cherish."

I loved it because I was able to get to know the girls more and make memories not only playing basketball on the court but as well the laughter and fun activities we did off the court including ziplining, playing games and going to the beach. I am so grateful for the time we were there and I will always remember that trip!"

"My most memorable moment from playing basketball at HBA was in freshman year after our team had lost to Kapa’a during States. We were all crying in the locker room and just looking at everybody’s faces made me realize how important this team was to everyone and that we had all built a bond together."

"My most memorable moment was when I ordered a pizza for after practice, and the delivery man came early and was asking everyone if there was a Lauren in the gym. It was a packed practice too since we were sharing the court with the boys team, so it was not my finest moment."

"I want to thank my parents for being my biggest glazers. I appreciate all the time you guys dedicate to me, and I love you both so much. I also want to thank coach Candace for pushing me to play varsity during my freshman year, because I wouldn't be where I am today without her."

"My most memorable moment was when the girls varsity got to hang out with a mainland basketball team after our game at the tournament right after Christmas. We ate dinner together and then at the end we all played a game called Mafia. It was really fun to play with them."

"Someone who I would like to thank for helping me grow as a basketball player is Coach Bryan. He's a coach at a club I play for and even though he hasn't been my coach for a long time he's done the most to cheer me on, help me get to my full potential, and supports in any way possible. He's an amazing coach and an even amazing cheerleader. Thank you Coach Bryan!"

"My most memorable moment so far was when our team was hanging out in Coach Zukeran's room and Coach Jordan surprised us by buying our whole intermediate team anything we wanted from McDonald's during our 8th grade season. It helped us further bond as a team and everyone got closer to each other."

"My most memorable moment was when I went on our pre-season basketball trip as well as winning the ILH D2 Championship and going to States during the 2022-2023 season as I got the chance to play with the upperclassmen in games who were very fun and supportive. Not only did I get to play, but I also was able to shine in my own way and play well. However, I believe that this year's Homecoming and Senior Night will be my most memorable moment from playing HBA basketball."

"IThere are many people I want to thank, but the first person that comes to my mind is my dad. I want to thank him for not only taking me to all my practices and games but also for taking the time to watch and record them all as well. He also helps me review my games and clips and has helped push me and teach me life lessons throughout my basketball career. He inspired me to work as hard as possible and maximize my potential. In addition, I want to also thank God for giving me the chance to play the past 11 years of basketball, and hopefully more in college."
